THE GREENHOUSE.
At this season the majority of greenhouse plants require a fair amount of water at the roots, as they are in active growth, and dry quickly owing to the natural warmth. Plants' with their pots full of roots derive benefit from occasional doses of weak manure water and soot water. Make sure that the plants are moist at the roots overnight. Plants in flower should be shaded from bright sunshine. Where material like summer Cloud is used for the purpose, it is often necessary at this time to give the greenhouse roof a second dressing. Prick out seedlings like primulas, cinerarias and streptocarpus when large enough. Top dress liliums in pots and stake them for support when required. Those coming into flower should .be given liquid manure regularly. Amaryllis should be syringed well and kept moist at the roots for some time yet. Syringe clivias, and give them soot water. Upon tho least sign of greenfly fumigate to keep it in check.
