Police at Ramallo, Ai-gentina, found that a' "black hand" gang, which had mailed extortionist letters to hacienda owners, consisted of five women. Senora Dolores Guevara, 57 years old, was arrested when she drove up in a sulky to get a packet of money left by a hacienda owner, who had notified the police. She and her four daughters admitted they had written the letters. They said they wanted money to pay off the mortgage on their farm.
