On Tuesday night he dies! Closes his tired eyes. Old Doctor Time won't save him; For my part I don't care, I shall not rend my hair. But just a farewell wave him. And say, what ever may occur, Gootl-bye. Old Year! That night lie dies: Can't stay here if ho tries, Nor do I really trouble; But stay old Anno hoary, All is not a sad story. Let's backward double ; Some things were passing fair, During your life. Old Year! That night he dies! Ah, lie was often wise, His time was not all sorrow; He brought me many a friend, Nor shall, their friendship end To-day, or yet to-morrow; You die, but love lives here, Bon jour, OlTl Year! That night he dies! But he has left a prize In friends with hearts of gold; Oh, tender souls and true i Thanks, thanks, Old Year to you, Although you're very old. Let this a blessing boar— And thanks Old Year! So let him die! Live you ami I To greet his heir all smiling. Good health, good luck to everyone When his successor lias beguu His journey, Sans repining, I seem to hear the bells astir, Welcome Neio Year!
