Howden and Cooper gave Pukekohe a good start and scored freely all round the wicket, the partnership putting on 64 runs for the first wicket. Lawrie scored in good, clean shots, and the third wicket fell at 127. Runs continued to come fast and at lunch Pukekohe had 220 up for the loss of five wickets. After lunch Fallows and Stoupe forced the pace and piled on runs, Pukekohe declaring with eight wickets down for 300 runs. Scores: — PUKEKOHE. —First Innings.
