FIJI SUGAR CRUSHING.

PROSPECTS GOOD FOR 1936. (From Our Own Correspondent.) • SUVA, December 23. The Fiji sugar crushing season may be said to be completed, the mill at Rarawai only having some cane to put through. Owing to tlie exceptionally wet season the sugar content is not as good as usual, but the quantity of cane delivered has been a record for the colony. The Nausori mill, which is tho oldest in the colony, and which lies in the wet zone, put up a wonderful record, having treated no less than 171,000 tons, the greatest quantity put through its rollers in any one season. The pro.spects for 1936 are given as good, provided there is fine weather, but the tonnage may not be up to this year's record.
