COUNTRY CRICKET.

TOURNEY AT DEVONPORT. Pukekohe All Out for 167. The Country Week cricket tourney was continued at the Devonpo'rt Domain today with ideal conditions still favouring the countrymen and principal interest being centred on No. 1 wicket, where the shield holders, Pukekohe, met the North Auckland representatives.

Pukekohe batted first and were all out just as the lunch interval happened for 167, Pat Howden with a bright inningsof 00 being responsible for most of the runs and W. Dunning bowled well on a perfect wicket to secure six wickets for 59.

On No. 2 pitch Riverhead were dismissed cheaply by Poverty Bay, the Shore substitutes, Scott and Walters, being the main scorers of the 70 totalled. Stewart (five for 20) and Wells (three for 12) were the destroying factors.

On No. 3 wicket Waipa and Manukau were engaged in a dour struggle with the bowlers on top in the early stages. Manukau were all out for a moderate 148, with Strachan principal contributor of 40 not out, while Barnett took seven wickets for 61.

After luncli North Auckland settled down to overtake Pukekohe's modest 107, and had 62 on the board before Dunning went. G. Lawrie, who topscored yesterday with 178, ebon followed, but Wyatt was going strong and batting freely. On No. 2 wicket Poverty Bay hit out freely after passing Riverliead's score, and were all out at 3 p.m. fjr 202. Waipa started disastrously against Manukau, three wickets being down for four runs, but Foster and W. Shepherd settled down for a useful fifth wicket stand and put a stop to Strachan's destructive bowling. Details: —
