" I WILL."
MOTORISTS OBJECT. WINDSCREEN STICKERS. SAFETY FIRST CAMPAIGN The fact that many motorists had objected to the safety first windscreen stickers being placed 011 their cars because of the wording was disclosed at a meeting of the council of the Automobile Association (Auckland) last night by the touring manager, Mr. lv. E. Chaniptaloup, when Mr. F. G. Farrell reported on the recent safety first week conference. Mr. H. J. Butcher: If it said "I drive safely" instead of "I will drive safely" I would attach a sticker to my windscreen. I do not want to drive safely for only one week. The President, Mr. Grayson: There seems to be something implied that you don't drive safely regularly, but you promise to do it for a week. Mr. A. Rosser said that it was like asking a man if he had stopped beating his wife yet. He would commit himself whether he said "yes" or "no." The cost of the 5000 stickers had been borne by the association, said Mr. Farrell, and Mr. Chaniptaloup had given a radio talk connected with the campaign. He expressed the hope that it would be a great success and reduce the number of citv accidents.
