UNUSUAL FIRE.
THREE SEPARATE OUTBREAKS.
PUNI HOUSE DAMAGED.

PUKEKOHE, Tuesday.
Unusual circumstances surround a fire which damaged one room of a house owned and occupied by Mr. A. Moon, of Puni.
Last evening a neighbour was burning rubbish, when a spark came in through the open window of the sitting room and ignited-a kapok cushion. This fire was extinguished, but about midnight Mrs. Moon awoke to find the house filled with smoke. The curtains and window casing of the sitting room were found to be blazing, but the flames were extinguished with buckets of water. The fire then appeared to have been successfully quelled. About mid-day to-day, however, the window casing and wall of the sitting loom burst into flames. A bucket brigade wafi formed and the flames were extinguished after considerable damage had been done to the room and furniture, The house \vas. insured,
