CAR BUILDERS' UNION.

Rates of wages for journeymen, and the date when the award should come into force, were the only matters not settled in conciliation between the employers and the Auckland Coach and Car Builders' Union. The Court has now fixed December 23 the date, and the following as the scale of wages: —

Coachbuiklers (woodmen), painters, blacksmiths, vice men, panel-beaters, machinists and trimmers. 2/1 per hour; assemblers over the age of 21, 1/10 per hour; helpers over the age of 21, 1/9 per hour.
