INTERESTING STAMPS.

Manv countries have issued stamps which 'include a map. Canada issued a Christmas stamp in 1898 showing a map of the world with the British possessions marked on it. In 1927 a Canadian stamp was issued to commemorate the COth anniversary of the Confederation of Canada. This stamp includes a map of Canada, which shows Upper and Lower Canada before confederation, and the Dominion of Canada in 1927.

The island of St. Helena, which is remembered as the place to which Napoleon was banished in 1815, celebrated the completion of its first century as a British Crown colony in 1934 by tile- production of a beautiful issue of stanips, one of which included a map of islaiid with all the principal places of interest named. An interesting feature of this stamp is the incorporation in the design of portraits of 'the four monarclis who have reigned since St. Helena became a Crown colony —William IV., Queen Victoria, Edward VII., and King George V. It is probably the first time that the portrait of William IV. has ever appeared on a stamp.

■The fourth stamp illustrated is one of a series of jubilee stamps issued by Cyprus in 1928 to commemorate the 50th of the British oecupa-: tion of the island. /
