OLD POST OFFICE.

REMOVAL OF BUILDING SHIFTING OF DEPARTMENTS. NOT UNTIL NEXT YEAR. Tenders for the removal of the old post office in Sliortland Street, in order to build a new link roadway between Shorthand Street and Fort Street, have not yet been dealt with, and it is not intended to shift the Government Departments, which include the State Fire Office and Labour office, at, present housed in the building, until early next year.

Temporary premises for the Departments have been secured in Hart's old building in High Street, and those premises will ba used until a new building is erected on the area between the new roadway and the Victoria Arcade.
