GOVERNMENT HOUSE BALL.

The Governor-General and Lady Galway propose to give a ball, to be eonfined mainly to the younger people, at Government House, Auckland, during the last week in January or the first week in February, at which, in accordance with old-established custom, a limited number of debutantes will he presented to their Excellencies. Requests- for presentation should be addressed to the Aide-de-Camp in Waiting, Government House, Auckland, not later than Monday, December 23, by the mother or other nearest relative. In making this application the Christian name and age of the prospective debutante should be given.
