HIGH EXCHANGE RATE.
FREEZING COMPANIES' SUPPORT. (By TelegraiJ. —Press Association.) CHRIST CHURCH, Tuesday. The question of v any reduction in the exchange rate on London was discussed at the annual meeting of the South Island Freezing Companies' Association to-day. The opinion was unanimously expressed that a reduction in the present rate would be disastrous to the farming community while other exporting countries continued on their present basis of exchange.
