SUNDAY WORK ALLOWED.

TRANSPORT OF RACEHORSES. NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The legality of the transport of racehorses by motor on Sundays was upheld by Mr. Justice Reed in a judgment on appeal to-day. The case was one in which Basil R. Blackball appealed against a conviction by a magistrate of working at his calling on Sunday by transporting racehorses in a motor float and his appeal was upheld. The judgment is of particular interest to racing clubs and owners of horses, as it is stated that the prohibition of transport on Sundays, particularly to the smaller one-day meetings, would seriously affect fields and, consequently, the finance and patronage of clubs.
