After 2000 people, had crowded into the Regent Theatre last night, the overflow waited outside to hear the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes. There was much interruption and once the Mayor, Mr. W. J Rogers, who presided, had to appeal for a hearing for the speaker. This was effective for a time, but thero was renewed uproar when Mr. Forbes claimed that the Government's policy had saved tte farmers from bankruptcy. "You must recognise," Mr. Forbes continued, "what the farmers have done for the cities. They " An Elector: Buy motor ears. (Laughter.) Resuming, tho Prime Minister said, amid interruption, that he believed the Government's policy was the right one, B nd that he had done his best at all times for all the people. Another Elector: If you had been on your own, George, you would have been all right. A Loyal Team. Mr. Forbes: As a team the members of the Government have worked loyally together. We entered into the Coalition and there has been complete loyalty throughout. I belong to the team, and when°l'ni working for a team or a man I work loyally. When that cannot be done I shall leave the team. (Cheers.) Referring to the unemployment ■problem, Mr. Forbes said that while at the World Economic Conference he had asked many famous economists if they could suggest a remedy. They bad none. "What is the solution?" he asked. "Work!" replied a quick-witted elector. The audience roared its appreciation. Mr. Forbes was persistently inter, "rupted by cheers on every reference to Labour's guaranteed price proposals. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
