ORGANIST'S DEATH.
MR. R. RUDLAND BODE, OF FIJI (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, September 23. Residents of Suva' were grieved last Friday to hear of the somewhat sudden death in tho hospital of Mr. Robert Rudland Bode. He would have been 73 had lie lived another day. Mr. Bode was well known as an accomplished organist. Born in England, he was organist in Wells Cathedral for years. He then went to Australia, where he was occupied prominently in musical circles. Later lie came to Fiji, where he became organist at Holy Trinity pro-Cathedral. Later he went to Honolulu and he became organist in the Honolulu Cathedral. He returned to Suva about two years ago and had been giving musical lessons, and just prior to his last short illness he was busy forming a musical or choral society. He leaves a widow (nee Miss Coster, of Fiji) and one son, Mr. Robert Bode. The Veil. Archdeacon Harris conductcd the funeral service.
