CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

ONEHUNGA ANNIVERSARY.

The first anniversary of the Onehunga 'Caledonian Society was celebrated on Saturday night in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga. The chief, Mr. J. H. Preston, who wore Highland costume, presides. The birthday cake was cut by Mrs. J. H. Preston. The programme consisted of Scottusii national melodies rendered by a choir under the baton of the patron, Dr. .James Kirkwood. Songs were sung by Mrs. SSykes, Messrs. W. G. Ker and A. elocutionary items were given by Mrs. N. Mooney and bagpipe selections by Pipe' J. Cowp'et. Miny visitors were present, including the May on of Onehunga, Mr. J. Park, and Mrs. Park, and representatives of the New Lynn St. Andrew's Society.
