When his attention was drawn to day to the Press Association message from Christchurch suggesting the likelihood of a new Liberal party being formed there, and stating that members oi» the United Party had passed a motion favouring a moderate party to guard against the extremes of' Reform and Labour, the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes, said he did not desire to make any comment on the position.
