MUSICAL COMEDY SEASON.

A shoal of congratulatory messages awaits the rearrival of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Ritchard, popular Australian musical comedy stars, who are spending a brief honeymoon holiday in Rotoruu prior to the opening of their season in His Majesty's Theatre next Wednesday. They will make their reappearance in Auckland, after a long absence, in a series of musical plays: "Roberta," "Our Miss GiUbs" and "High Jinks." Seldom, if ever, has such interest been evinced in the marriage of stage celebrities. Both Mr. Ritchard and Miss Madge Elliott are famous in Australia, England and here; they are splendid dancers; both can sing and act, and Mr. Ritchard is a stage comedian with a particular flair for frivolous comedy, while Miss Elliott is a winsome conspirator. Dates for the tour have been finalised by Mr. H. Stringer, Now Zealand representative for Messrs. J. C. Williamson, who states that the Auckland season will last from October 2 to October 19; New Plymouth, October 21; Wanganui, October 22; Palmerston North, October 23; Hastings. October 24; Mastcrton. October 25; Wellington, October 2(3 to November 9; Christchurch, November 11 to 22; Dunedin. November 23 to December 3; Invereargill," December 4 and 5; Tiniaru, December 6 and 7.
