AMUSEMENTS.
PRINCE EDWARD SUNDAY CONCERT The Prince Edward Theatre was packed last evening when an enjoyable conceit was presented by Miss Jesmond Hiscott in aid of the funds of the Auckland Provincial Unemployed Workers' Association. The stage was decorated to represent a wedding reception room, the "bridal party" entering from the rear of the hall. During the evening Mr. F. E. Larktook the opportunity of introducing the '•Labour Queens" to the audience. A thoroughly entertaining programme was presented, contributors including leu Lonergan's Syneopators, Walter Smith's Aloha Orchestra, "The Melody Five,' Mrs. Mahen, Misses Dawn Barraclough, Mary Lawson, Doris Morris, Mildred Edwards, Jesmond Hiseott and "Baby Zoo," Messrs. Jim McFaddcn, Henry Lawson, Hjrry Dormer and pal, Val. Miller, Stan Ilolthouse. Johnny Negri. Jim Hoey, Fred White. Eric Duncan, Alf. Elliott, Bob Clark. Gordon Oldfield and Jim McMillan. Miss Margaret Simm was an efficient accompanist and Mr. Holthouse was announcer. MUNICIPAL BAND. An enjoyable programme of popular music was given by the Auckland Municipal Band in the Zoological Park yesterday afternoon. An interesting recital will be given in the Town Hall next Sunday evening, when Mr. Denis Sheard (tenor) and Mr. Jack Buckley (piano soloist) will be assisting artists. This will be the final indoor recital by the band for this season.
