1 (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORGA, Saturday. The third annual open tournament of the Ilotorua Basketball Association for the Kurunpraituku Trophy commenced yesterday. There were excellent entries and keen interest was shown. Section play was completed this morning, the winners being as follows :— . Section A. —Matamata A. o—o. ■ Section P..—Waikino A, s—l. Section ('.—llavelock North. C—o. In the semi-final Ilavelock IC, beat Matamata 14. The final between Havelnok North and Waikino A proved to be a fast, exciting contest, the former team proving to be better in team work and shooting ability. Tho game ended : Havelock North 20, Waikino A 10.
