COLOMBO AND CALCUTTA. At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea held on the 27th instant, 1.400.0001b of tea was placed under offer. Quality of IJinibiillas and Diekoyas was well maintained, while others showed a slight improver ment. fair general demand was experienced, with common kinds generally steady, others irregular and slightly easier. \ctual price alterations showed an advance of V±i\ per lb on commons, a firm market on price broken orange Pekoes, a reduction of %d per lb on plain 8.0.1 .*. first classic broken Pekoes and fine broken orange Pekoes. Exchange remained unaltered. The next sale will not be held until September 4-10. . . ~ \ report on ttie Calcutta sale held on the 20th instant showed that the quantity offered amounted to 1.500.0001b. Quality was slightly inferior, and the result of the sale showed that commons declined %d per lb, while others were irregular and slightly easier.
