WRESTLING.

JAGET SINGH V. BLOMFIELD. The most colourful and, at the same time, one of the most formidable of the professional wrestlers now in the Dominion, will make his first appearance at Auckland ou Monday night, when Jaget Singh, of India, is to meet "Lofty" Blomfield. of Auckland, at the Town Hall. Singh was launched upon his wrestling career under the tutelage of the great Gama, generally recognised as the greatest of all wrestlers. He is a fine physical specimen, weighing over 10 stone, and yet retaining remarkable agility. When he first appeared at Wellington he created something of a sensation and immediately became a warm favourite with the crowd. He so frequently departs from the orthodox that it is impossible to tell what he ia going to do ne*!*. Both his matches in the capital city ended with Singh holding his pet grip, "the Indian death lock," ou his opponent, and reports indicate that it was only the gong that saved Earl McCrendy from having the first fall ot his New Zealand campaign recorded against him, as there does not appear to be any escape from the hold. Singh is one of the three products of his country who have issued challenges for the British Empire title, and consequently his match with Blomfield is of more than passing interest.

ANDRESEN DEFEATS HOPKINS.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGAXUI, this day. In an exceptionally fast and clever wrestling bout here last night, O. Andiesen (15.8) defeated G. Hopkins (15.8) by one fall in the seventh round, when the latter submitted to a Swedish clam. Andresen five times applied his leg full Nelson, but by sheer strength the Englishman broke clear.
