FAREWELL TO MINISTER.

REV. FRAZER B. BARTON. Gathering to farewell their minister, the Rev. Frazer B. Barton, who leaves this week to take charge of St. Andrew's, Gore, a large body of the congregation and friends of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church., Ponsonbj', filled the church hall to capacity last night. The sessions' clerk, Mr. F. M. Nairn, presider'; A leather wallet and substantial cheque were presented to Mr. Barton by Mr. Nairn, and a dinner set and travelling rug to Mrs. Biirton by Messrs. R. L. Stewart and A. F. Ellis, oil behalf of the congregation. Acting for the men's league, Mr. W. Rogers presented Mr. Barton with a set of devotional books. High tributes were paid to the work of the minister, who thanked the gathering and expressed his regret at leaving the district and church. Other ministers who took part in farewclling Mr. Barton were the Rev. T. N. Cuttle, Moderator of the Auckland Presbytery, the Rev. W. W. Averill, of All Saints' Church, the Rev. F. J. Handy, of the Ponsonby Methodist Church, and the Bcv. J. b. Jensen, of the Ponsonby Baptist Church.
