GOLFERS FORTUNATE.
POHUTU GEYSER PLAYING. BEST FOR FIVE YEARS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondents ROTORUA, this day. A large number of visiting golfers who are at present at Arikiapakapa for the golf tournament count it as fortunate that the tourney has coincided with a fresh outbreak of thermal energy on the part of Pohutu Geyser. On Tuesday the geyser played for three hours 35 minutes continuously, which was the longest continuous display during the past five years, while yesterday it again sent up a number of spectacular shots during the morning and afternoon. The geyser has been more active during the past three months than for a number of years, this being generally ascribed in spite of expert opinious to the contrary to the record high level of the lake.
