CONSPIRACY CHARGE.

SALESMAN ARRESTED. REMANDED ON HEAVY BAIL. Arrested in Wellington by Detective' Robinson on a. conspiracy charge, Alexander Wallace Copley, aged 37, salesman, appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. Copley was charged that on March 5 at Auckland, lie conspired with divers other persons, by deceit, to defraud Warniford Johnston of £400. On the application of Senior Detective Hall accused was remanded until June 13. Copley applied for bail, whereupon Senior Detective Hall made a request that if bail were allowed it should be made substantial. "We have been looking for this man since March," he said. The magistrate fixed bail at £300.
