LONG AIR TRIPS.
Campbell Black's Plans for
This Year
IN FAST, NEW COMET.
(British Ofllciat Wireless.)
RUGBY, May 24.
Before the northern summer ends in September Mr. Campbell Black, who was co-pilot with Mr. C. W. A. .Scott in the Comet monoplane. which won the Melbourne Centenary air race, will undertake a series of long-distance flights. He hopes to establish new records over some of the world's chief present and future air routes.
The machine to be used will be a new improved Comet, now under manufacture, designed to cruise 10,000 feet above sea level at a speed of at least 220 miles an hour. Details of the flights have not been finally decided, but it is known that the airman is particularly interested in the route linking Latin America with Europe and Africa.
