MISSIONARIES IN CHINA.
PEKING, May 23.
Although the two captured missionaries, Messrs. A. Hayman, of Auckland, and R. A. Bossliarclt, of Switzerland, were threatened with execution on May 9 unless a ransom of £70,000 was forthcoming they were still alive a week ago. Mr. Bosshardt was recovering from an illness at the time.
