OFFENCE BY A MAORI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. Charged with stealing the sum of £0 at Pipiwai, .Joe Matthews, a Maori, appeared before Messrs. F. A. I'armer and K. Hornbiow, J.l'.'s, in the Police Court this morning. Accused wiw convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within twelve months, and was allowed a month in which to pay £4 0/0 witnesses' expenses. Mr. D. L. Ko?s appeared 011 behalf of Matthews.
