CLOTHES LINES.

Clothes lines that are used in town

gardens easily become soiled, especially fri winter, and they are liable to mark clean clothes. They may be kept in

good order if they. are washed occasionally. They should be coiled firmly round a strong" clean board, such as a chopping board, and thoroughly soaked in warm soapy water. They should then be well scrubbed.' The board holds the coils in place, so that the scrubbing is easily done. After a good rinsing in cold 'water the lines should be hung

up to dry. If no suitable board is available an oblong enamelled tray will serve the purpose, provided tha*. it has no trace of rust about it.
