WOMEN'S DISPUTE.
EUCHRE TOURNEY INCIDENT. o DAMAGES FOR SLANDER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A dispute between two women over the running of euchre tournaments in aid of the Christchurcli Toy Dog and Cat Club had a sequel in the civil Court this morning, when Mrs. Mary Priest, honorary secretary of the club, claimed from Mrs. F. Vincent a total of £15 damages. Plaintiff alleged that Mrs. Vincent had falsely and maliciously used concerning her the words "I know all about your character, and if I told people what I know of your character they would never come back to this hall again." She further, alleged that defendant had referred to her as one of the "scum of the earth," and lastly, that Mrs. Vincent had flicked her in the face with a pair of gloves. After hearing evidence, Mr. H. P. Lawry, Sil., gave judgment for plaintiff for £7 and costs.
