For the second wool sale of the season at Christchurch on January 28, the final figures are as follow: Offered, 25,198 bales; sold, 24,001 bales; realisation, £280,143; average price per lb, B.(M2d; price per bale, £11 12/10.3. At the December sale in 1934 the price per lb was 8.214 d, and the price a bale £11 2/8.02. At the second wool sale last year the price per lb was 17(1, and the price a bale £23 2/, or nearly double the rates realised for this season. SALES IN DOMINION. LARGE DECREASE SHOWN. Sales of wool in the Dominion for the first seven months of the season show a large decrease, according to returns compiled by Dalgety and Company, Ltd. Dominion offerings comprised 230,818 bales, of which 200,207 were sold, while the corresponding figures for 1933-34 were 320,374 and 315,003. During January, 129,380 bales were offered and 114,508 sold. Exports of- wool during December totalled 73,631 bales, of which 2623 bale 3 were shipped from Auckland and Opua. For the seven months' period 186,459 bales were exported, against 347,763 in the previous season, the Auckland, and Opua figures being 20,956 bales and 39,893 bales respectively. CUSTOMS ASSESSMENTS. Rates of exchange ruling at the announced dates of departure of the vessels named are shown in the following table.
