PIGEON FLYING.
ONEHUNGA CLUB. The Oncluinga Racing Pigeon Club flew a race from Kaurimu, an airline distance of 109 miles. Results :—Messrs. Pukehana Loft's Wk c c Western Light, 870 yds, 1 : Messrs. Redwood Loft's b c h Redwood Gazette, 809.7yd5, 2; Mr. K. Devereux's b c h Miss Parkin, 809.0 yds, 3; Mr. .VV. Gallagher's blk p c Native Chief, 807 yds, 4. Eleven lofts were represented. NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Pigeon Club contested the first rjuifi" of its young bird season from Te Awamutu, 41 birds competing. The birds encountered a northerly wind, and returned a slow velocity. Result: — Mr. J. Hemingways r c. c Young Red Shadow, 856.3 yds 1 Mr. H.
