RAGLAN FATALITY.

DROWNED WHILE FISHING

.MAN DISAPPEARS IN HOLT-

HAMILTON, this day. Mr. John Thompson, married, aged 51, miner, of Pukemiro, was drowned while flatlishing in the Raglan Harbour early yesterday morning. With his son, Mr. Gilbert Thompson, aged 22, and two other Pukemiro miners, Messrs. Matthew Gardner and Edward McLoughlan, who were campin.' at Monk's Point, on the Te Akau side of the Raglan Harbour, Mr. Thompson set out at 3 a.m. to spear flatfish. Messrs. Gardner and McLoughlan fished in a bay on one side' of the point, and Mr. Thompson and his son tried their luck in another bay. Shortly afterward Mr. Thompson, sen., fell into a deep hole and disappeared in the darkness. The other men made a search without success. Constable Christenson, of Raglan, was informed, and the search was renewed throughout yesterday.
