WORK AT TE RAPA
GAY SETON AND SINKING FUND.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, this day
Little fast work was attempted at Te Rapa this morning, when the course proper next to the rails was open. A pleasing effort was recorded by Adalene, who leaves in company with Ruby Meteor, Sinking Fund. King Ford and Gay Seton for Auckland to-morrow.
There was little between Sinking Fund and Gay Seton at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.1 3-5. The latter has been sprinting well, and should strip in good fettle at Ellerslie. Adalene pleased better than King Ford while getting to the end of half a mile in 4Ss. Adalene, who had the outside running, and was carrying nearly three stone more than -her companion, was going easily alongside King Ford throughout, and the pair were locked together at the finish. Golden Princess was too good for Potoa Lad and Consort over four furlongs in ;>l%s. Lion Heart dashed over three furlongs along the back. This horse is in good fettle for his approaching engagements.
