BUTTERFAT PAYMENTS.
HIKURANGI DAIRY COMPANY. BOARD REGULATIONS BLAMED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Wednesday. The Hikurangi Dairy Company, Ltd., on October 20 will make an advance payment to suppliers for September buttertat as follows: Superfine, 7%d; first grade, 7d; second grade, 6d. These advances will absorb £7457. For the corresponding month last year, when the advances were at the rate of lOd for superfine, the amount distributed was £11,000. This month's payments are the lowest the company lias made for a number of years, and the directors to-day issued the following statement: — "The company is of the opinion that, had they a free market, the advances would have been much higher. Some weeks ago the company could have sold gaod quantities of butter f.o.b. at a considerably higher price than the butter is realising on the London market, but owing to the new board regulations we were unable to do so. "This company is of the opinion that the trade in England is not in any way boycotting New Zealand produce, but simply resents the regulations and prefers to purchase butter from other countries where no such conditions are imposed.
