RAIL DETERIORATION.
The quarterly meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Engineers was held at the school of engineering, Auckland Univereity, last evening. A paper ou "Rail Deterioration" was read by Mr. H. W. Beasley, dieti"ict engineer for the Railway Department. Mr. J. Tyler presided, and a discussion followed.
