COUNTRY PARTY IN SENATE,
(Received 1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. A group of two United Australia party members and one Country party member has been endorsed by the U.A.1 , . Council for the Senate elections. The endorsed candidates are Major-General C. H. Brand, Mr. J. W. Leckie and Mr. W. G. Gibson.
The leader and deputy-loader of the Federal Parliamentary Country party have announced that they will stand behind Senator Elliott, and express surprise and regret that Mr. Gibson has accepted nomination.

Conservative majority . 4.29.J The result makes no change in tinparties in the House of Commons.
