TAX ON CIGARETTE PAPERS.

During its three years in office this Parliament has been responsible for many P® r " nicioiift infringements of the rights and liber* ties of the average citizen. We do not nun being deprived of most of the necessities 0 life. but, wo do object most to be.ng robbed of those small luxuries which alone make life tolerable in these times of nationa depression. This absolutely outrageous tax on cigarette papers makes one feel that the expression "We are round the corner," is mere hollow mockery. When the Government reduced relief rates the wretched relief tightened his belt, lit a "roll-vonr-own" anstruggled on, but now not even this is nl!o\ve him. It is just this sort of thing that * s driving thousands to sign petitions for the dissolution of Parliament. FAGLESS FAGGER.
