SODIUM CHLORATE.
GOVERNMENT CANNOT ACT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Reporting to the Dominion executive of the Fanners' Union to-<liiv, the president, Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., said the Department of Agriculture had written stating that the Government wa.e unable to undertake the importation and sale of sodium'chlorate,'but that the question of giving a subsidy to reduce the cost to farmers was under consideration.
