SOCCER REP. MATCH.

WELLINGTON'S CHALLENGE. BLATOFORD PARK ON SATURDAY. FIXTURE PROGRAMME CURTAILED. Wellington -will make a determined effort to take the F.A. trophy, the Dominion premiership, from Auckland on Saturday. The match will be played on Blandiord Park, starting at 2.45, instead of 3 o'clock, as has been the "usual time of kick-off. The southern association has only held the premiership for a few months since its inception in 1926, when they took it Irom Auckland in 1031 and till Otago captured it almost immediately afterwards. The Wellington association has played a scries of trial matches to select the best possible team and the eleven that has been chosen is certainly one of tin: strongest that has come north for many seasons. At the end of last playing year, Wellington met the local representatives here after the latter had brought back the F.A. trophy from Otago, and Wellington on that occasion took from Auckland the frank Campbell Rose Bowl, so that the men from the capital will come north full of confidence of victory. Auckland eleven had a full muster last evening at training and all the players are keen and eager. A hard, fast game is sure to be the outcome. hi view of the representative match, the fixture list for the day has been considerably curtailed, and there will be no games after the finish of the 1.30 kick-ott matches on the Domain.
