I CASES OF CRUELTY. { There was a "particularly large attend-; jance at the monthly meeting of the socictv on Monday. Rev. Father Colgari occupied the chair. The secretary reported 375 office interviews and inspector's visits to homes, institutions 115, eight attendances at Magistrate's Court, three to Children's Court, anil one to Supreme Court in the interests of women and children. Several cases had been sent from bodies. Jt was stated with regret that a number of i cases of reported ill-usage and cruelty I to children had been received during the month. Maintenance money received and paid to clients amounted to £IS2. A I lengthy report was received from the ; National Council of Women on the Child i Welfare Act, and a special committee I was set up to consider same.
