MEAT EXPORTS.
MR. FORBES' COMMENT-
BRITISH QUOTA SCHEME
SAFEGUARDING PRODUCERS,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WELLING TON, this day
Addressing the Fanners' Union Conference to-day, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, urged that the fullest discussion take place regarding the British meat quota proposals. They had to recognise, he said, that there were two sides to the question, and they must endeavour to see that whatever action the British Government took it did not have disastrous effects on the New Zealand industry. The Xew Zealand Government, through the High Commissioner, was doing its utmost to safeguard the interests of the Xew Zealand meat producers.
