DANCE AT KUMEU.
The Kumeu Hall was transformed into a gay canopy of blue and gold streamers, with hidden lights to add to the effect, which the Kumeu Tennis Club arranged to entertain their members and visitors from the surrounding district clubs at its annual dance on Saturday evening. The Auckland Regimental Band was present and provided an excellent programme of the latest dance music. A Monte Carlo waltz competition and an effective spot Avaltz added to the enjoyment of the evening, the winners being Miss Phyllis Petford and Mr. Irvine and Mrs. Smith and Mr. Bert Fletcher (Wai-. mauku). Among those present were: Mesdames Orme, Harris, Hamblin, Malins, Russcl, Nelson, Tiplady, Goldstone, Burrell, Rennie, Hanson, Smith, Fletcher, S. Biss Misses Joyce Gooding, Phyllis Sherwood, Lesley Bell, Gladys Orme, Thyra Shuttleworth, Laura Barnes, Joyce Petford, Phyl Petford, Phyllis Megson, Thelma Drewryhouse, Joan Hill, Ivy Leslie, Nell Leslie, Molly Petford, Kathleen Petford, Beryl Marchand, Eileen Dale, June HarrisonSmith, Beryl Parnell, Thelma Leslie.
