PONSONBY. The monthly meeting of the Ponsonby branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in St. John's Methodist Hall on Thursday afternoon. The president, Miss Kead, was in the chair. A devotional talk was given by Mrs. Christopher. Two solos were rendered by Mrs. Lewis, and one by Mrs. Tasker Brown. Helpers were asked to assist in the Y.M.C.A. and the Y.W.C.A. appeal, also for the W.C.T.U. stall at the Winter Show. Being "White Ribbon Day," a short talk on the. subject was -riven by Mrs. Tasker' Brown. Miss Pyle, who has just returned from Opotiki, also gave a brief summary of her visit, there.
