Allum leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Sir Stephen Allen returned from the South by the Limited this morning. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Court leave for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Bishop Williams, of Waiapu, leaves again for the South by the Limited to-night. Mr. J. Stanton, city solicitor, returned from Wellington uy tlie Limited this morning. Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, and Mrs. Broadfoot, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. A. Harris, M.P. for Waitemata, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Phil. Seabrook leaves by the Limited to-night for Wellington, on his way to England. Mr. G. H. Davis, New Zealand Railways land officer, goes South by the Limited to-night. Dr. T. G. Gray, Inspector-General of Mental Hospitals, went South by the Limited last night. Mr. G. J. Bcrtinshaw, chief engineer of New Zealand Railways, leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Mr. G. H. Bell, of Oakura, Taranaki. has been elected president of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association. Mr. J. P. Covder, buyer for J. R. MeKenzic, Ltd., arrived from Wellington this morning and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. W. E. Barnard, M.P. for Napier, arrived by the Limited this . morning, and goes South again by the Limited to-night. Mr. G. E. Hutchinson left by train yesterday afternoon to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board in Wellington. Mr. J. R. Robinson and Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, members of the Railway Appeal Board, leave for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Mr. Albert Smith has been appointed a member of the New Zealand Wool Committee, in place of Mr. H. T. Milner. who has resigned. Mr. Vincent Ward, of Wellington, returned from Sydney by the Wanganella yesterday and went South by the express last night. Mr. Trevor S. Withers, managing director of the General Trust and Investment Corporation, Ltd., leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Mr. E. Jones, manager of the Paparoa branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, will be transferred to the Onchunga branch about the end of July. The Rev. H. Leggate, of Manchester, Toe H delegate in New Zealand, who, with Sirs. Leggate, has been on a visit to Australia, returned by the Wangauella yesterday. Mr. E. N. Beilbyj architect to the City of Melbourne, arrived by the Wangauella yesterday to spend a holiday in New Zealand before going to America and England on business. Sir George I\lason Allard, president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, and Lady Allard, arrived by the Wangauella from Sydney yesterday and are at the Grand Hotel. Major C. H. Cockram, of the 7th Ghurka Rifles, who arrived by the Wangauella yesterday, intends to spend a week in New Zealand before leaving for England for the remainder of his leave. I The Rev. E. M. McLevie, curate of St. Matthew's Parish, Masterton, has been appointed vicar of the parish of NorthEast Valley, Dunedin, in succession to the Rev. S.' A. G. Xiurd, who has taken, charge of the Dunstan parish. Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M., of Napier, is to retire on superannuation from May 31. He entered practice as a barrister and solicitor at Auckland in 1901, and was appointed a stipendiary magistrate in 1920. He has been at Napier since 1927.
