FUSION URGED.
FEDERAL PARTIES. Complete Union Only Basis Of Agreement. REPLY TO COUNTRY PARTY. -United F.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The "Sydney Morning Herald" Melbourne correspondent says that the United Australia party considers that the only permanent and satisfactory solution of the differences between the United Australia party and the United Country party is complete union of the two parties and organisations throughout the Commonwealth. 4 This is the effect of the reply made by Mr. J. A. Lyons to Dr. Earle Page's suggestions to exchange preferences and form an anti-Labour bloc in the pending Federal election. It is considered that Dr. Page's proposals do not go far enough and under tlicm both parties would be placed in the anomalous position of agreement in New South Wales and conflict in certain other States.
It is not expected that the Country party will accept the proposal for union of the two parties.
