COUNTY CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Friday. A remit was carried at the annual conference of the Mid-Canterbury Farmers' Union that every effort be made to prevent the lifting of the embargo on imported stock. It was resolved that vendors of licks and drenches for sheep arid lambs showld be compelled to have printed on the labels an analysis of the ingredients. It was resolved also to ask the Government to reduce the rates of its interest demands in conformity with the general trend, also to make a reduction in the land tax. Mr. Raymond Oakley was elected president.
