OTAHUHU ASSOCIATION.
CLOSE FINISH IN SENIOR GRADE. The management committee of the Ot - )- hnhn Cricket Association decided that the different frames with visiling teams during the Easter holidays would be played at Sturgcss Park and tliat matting was to be used on the turf. Last season this method was adopted and called fur favourable comment. Owing to a number of players being unable to play in the mornings it was decided to start the matchcs each day at 1 p.m. Fnpntoctne will send an eleven to Otahuliu on Good Friday. Mr. E. C. Heale's team is 1o play on Easter Saturday, the Whitford team will play its annual match with the Otahnhu Returned Soldiers on the same day. and on Easter Monday a team from the Business Houses' Association will try conclusions with a local eleven. Owing to the St. Joseph's Club being linable to field a team to meet the Technical High School team on Saturday, Trinity United has been awarded this game.
A proposal to wind up the sjar.on with a dinner, at which the trophies won will he presented, met with the approval of delegates. Club members iro to be asked for opinions, and if suflicient support is promised the function will take place next month.
Special interest is attached to the game next Saturday between Challenge and Kempthornes, the two leading teams in (he senior grade, as a four-point win to Kempthornes will put them level with Challenge. Both teams still have an additional game to play. Railways (eight points behind the leaders) still have a chance, as two eixpointers would nut them well in the i running. '
