Goleonda. —During the week we have cleaned up the fare in the drive on the main reef at the 70ft level. going towards the slide, and resumed driving. Advanced 7f. the reef is as wide as the drive and is now veering to the right. The Quartz is carrving a fair amount of mineral and a little zinc blende. The country on the hangIncwall side is Improving. We continued a crosscut into the hangingwall country ct the reef and advanced Bft. Three droppe-s were passed through, each being about ..in wide. In the first one we saw a few colours of gold. The country rock is of a good "description. Jlntaki. — Under date the 10th inst. the dredgeinaster reports as follows: Since last renorting the dredge has been working well. We continued dredging broadside on to the river in a westerly direction until Thursday, when the dredge was turned upstream. Tile prospects in the river are gcod. At the present time the face extends one chain into the river, the remainder being a high bank, where the prospects are not so good. We will continue opening out into the river and in about a week will be through the poorest of the ban]; area. Prom then on the return should improve. So far the wash in the river lias been only lift and 12ft in depth, but carries a good sample of gold." , _, , ~,, Dawn of Hope (Thames). —Driving hillward on the hangingwall dropper has been continued during the past week, the distance driven being a further 3ft. The lender is now showing in the face a width of Oin.
